Information for Parents
As a Catholic community, daily collective worships are fundamental to maintaining our Christian ethos. It is our intention that all children should be given the opportunity to grow in spiritual awareness and develop their relationship with God. As well as daily class prayers such as morning offerings, grace before meals etc, we participate in the following collective worships each week:
Monday: Gospel Worship– The Head teacher leads the school in worship centered around the Gospel of the previous Sunday.
Tuesday: Worship through Hymns - The whole school meets to praise God through song.
Wednesday: House Collective worship - Children meet in House groups and worship together, followed by a discussion around issues related to each group.
Thursday: Class Worship– Classes take turn to lead the rest of the school in worship on a topic of their choice. Parents are invited to these worships.
Friday: Laudate (meaning ’praise’) - The school comes together to listen to scripture, to praise God and to celebrate the achievement of the children over the course of the week.
As well as our daily worship sessions, we usually meet to celebrate Mass three or four times a term. The children also participate in Penitential liturgies in Advent and Lent.
